10. Business Friendliness
In the end, this is often the brunt. The 1990s and early 2000s were characterized frequently by tales of woe about companies who ventured onto the continent and the hoops they had to jump through. Eastern Europe was just opening up as well, and money tended to move in that direction, instead. Not so anymore. The late 2000s have been characterized by efforts to streamline Africa's investment processes and swing previously shuttered doors wide open with a smile. But a lot still - admittedly - remains to be done.
